Apartment Decorating Dos and Donts
If you’ve moved into an apartment, one
of your first steps should be to make the space your own—but how are
you going to decorate your new home? There are many easy mistakes to
make when decorating an apartment, as well as many opportunities to let
your creativity run wild.
Do: Consider Your Space
First of all, don’t make your apartment
too crowded! A common mistake is bringing too much stuff into a smaller
space. You’ll need room to breathe and probably aren’t wanting to make
the place look cluttered.
Don’t: Waste Money
If you’re looking for ways to decorate on
the cheap, then you can search of used items in good condition that can
still give your rooms a classy feel. If you’re feeling really crafty,
make your own decorations. There are thousands of do-it-yourself ideas
on the internet.
Do: Follow Rules
Finally, be careful how you decorate. When
you own a home, you don’t have to worry about things like poking holes
in the walls or repainting a room, but in an apartment, thumbtacks and
paint jobs might be off-limits. Find less permanent ways to express your
creativity like posters, artwork, rugs, plants, cool furniture, or
interesting curtains.
